What programs with a preschool endorsement must have on site
• A written daily or weekly plan that is developmentally appropriate and available to parents and staff (section 19a-79-8a). It must reflect the learning needs of all children in your care and cover skills across areas like social and emotional development, cognition, physical development, language and literacy, math, creative arts, science, and social studies.
• An education consultant and head teacher with experience appropriate to the ages you serve, both approved by the OEC Registry. The education consultant visits at least annually to review plans and policies, observe staff, and give feedback.
• A health consultant who makes quarterly site visits (semi-annual for group child care homes, programs open 3 hours or less per day, or school age only programs). Programs closed for the summer may skip the summer visit.
• Screen time limits: children under 2 may not use phones, computers, or video devices. Children 2 and older may only use them for educational or physical activity purposes. This does not apply to a child who needs such a device because of a disability or developmental delay.
